All students participate in our Fitness Program three days a week. The purpose of the program is to increase the children's flexibility, aerobic endurance, muscle tone and strength. On the remaining two days students participate in skill development programs including dance, gym and games.
Sports clinics are organised for children to learn about and have experience in a wide range of sports including cricket, rugby league, walla rugby, AFL, softball, netball and hockey. Stages 2 and 3 (Years 3 - 6) are involved in a minimum of two clinics during the course of the year.
School Carnivals held during the year include - swimming, track and field and cross country.
An intensive two week Swimming Program for our Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2 classes is conducted in Term 4 each year.
A Specialist Gymnastics Teacher is employed in Term 1 to run an intensive program for students from Year 2 to Year 6.

The whole school follows a structured Social Skills Program , which provides a variety of learning and goal-setting activities for children. This Program assists children develop awareness and knowledge of appropriate behaviours in a variety of social situations. It also aims to develop their self-esteem and confidence. Showing courtesy and respect for ourselves and others is an expectation for all members of the St Benedict's community.
PERCEPTUAL MOTOR PROGRAM
As we are committed to development of the whole child at St Benedict's, our Physical Education Program caters to the physical development of each child. This commences in Kindergarten where the children are introduced to our Perceptual Motor Program. This program, which extends to Years 1 and 2, is supported by a team of trained parent tutors and has been a valuable inclusion to our curriculum.
